For my boyfriend’s 20th birthday, I wanted to do something special and different with him [on a budget, sort of]. We’ve been dating for almost two years now and he has always wanted to go to the zoo, but I never had the chance to take him. Going to the zoo with your family is fun, but going with your significant other is better. I’ve never been the kind of person to enjoy typical dinner-movie dates. I don’t think it’s personal in a way. A zoo date, on the other hand, gives you the opportunity to get to know one another better. Even after almost two years of dating, he still has stories and things about himself that I didn’t even know. You continue learning about your partner every single day, no matter how long you’ve been together.
I’ve never been to the zoo before, not even with my family. So when Tasha told me she wanted to take me to the zoo for my 20th birthday, I was thrilled. At first I was a little skeptical because I’ve only ever loved the idea of going on a zoo date, but in all honesty, I thought it was gonna bore me to hell. Little did I know, I really enjoyed myself along with my girlfriend’s company. We did nothing but stroll around the zoo, looking at bears and all. It was a different date experience for me as previously, my typical idea of a date would be to take her to the movies and dinner after. Overall, it was an overwhelming experience. In a good way, of course.
