Top 5 Autumn Eyeshadow Picks

Autumn is finally here in Minnesota. While it looks bright and sunny outside, don’t let the weather fool you. It is getting super chilly and you may need a scarf but I, for one, am loving it. You get to step on crunchy rusty-orange leaves and rock your berry lipsticks!

I’d like to share my favorite eyeshadows to wear this season and as you can see from the swatches below, I am digging the metallics. It makes your eyes look fresh and awake. On the plus side, shimmery eyeshadows make brown eyes pop.

I know some of you won’t be able to get your hands on certain eyeshadows if you’re from Malaysia, but I’ll definitely include a dupe or similar eyeshadow/palette that you can get your hands on from Sephora or MAC.

From top to bottom:

  1. L’oreal Infallible Amber Rush

You HAVE to own at least one rose gold eyeshadow in your collection. You can pair it with any eye look or even wear it on its own. It will give you a bright-eyed look. This shade makes me think of the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette, which is a gorgeous pink-toned palette in itself.

2. L’oreal Infallible Glistening Garnet

I used to deter from fuschia pinks on my eyes because I’m terrified of the bruised eye look. However, shades like this will look beautiful with brown eyes! It’s also great if you’d like to try a smokey eye that is not brown or black. A great dupe is MAC Cranberry or INGLOT 450P.

3. INGLOT #53

You know what, I truly miss INGLOT. They have some really bomb eyeshadows that you should go and swatch. I also remember them being way cheaper than MAC eyeshadows. This shade is a beautiful burnt orange-brown eyeshadow, which is pretty as a light transition color or a heavy crease color. Also, a staple color for grunge eye makeup looks. Other than that, it stays on FOREVER.

4. MAC Satin Taupe

If you’re a makeup avid, you would have heard of Satin Taupe. It’s a cool-toned taupe with a teeny tiny purple undertone and the sheen is awesome. Beautiful as a crease color or an all-over.

5. Wet n Wild Coloricon #738

Okay, so this certain color is the bottom-right in the palette even though you should get the palette for all the eyeshadows because they are so pigmented. And for such a low price, which is equally amazing. I definitely did see this being sold in SASA right before I left for the States early this year, so definitely go and check it out! This color is a duo chrome, which means you get two-in-one. It’s a teal-based reddish brown, so when you apply it at first, it’s all shimmery teal goodness, but once you blend and blend and blend upwards, you get a free reddish brown crease color thrown in. It’ll save you time and you will look like a smokey-eyed mermaid goddess. Similar ones would be MAC Blue Brown Pigment or MAC Club.

2 looks that I came up with using only these 5 eyeshadows, an eyeliner, and a mascara. Match it with lip color of your desire:

Crease: Inglot #53 | Outer Corner: L’oreal Infallible Glistening Garnet | Center of the Lid and Inner Corner: L’oreal Infallible Amber Rush

Crease and Center of the Lid: Wet n Wild Coloricon | Inner Corner of the Lid: MAC Satin Taupe

There you have it! I hope you have fun coming up with your own autumn look. Tweet us with your favorite eyeshadow of the moment at @kulmagazine!
