I feel like I’m the weather girl here at KUL Magazine because I’m always updating you guys with the weather in Minnesota. What can I say? It’s so fascinating, or not. It snowed yesterday and while it was the most stressful day I’ve had in a long time, the teeny tiny snowflakes did make my heart swell just a little.
Adrienne sent me a photo of FKA twigs’ makeup look in her music video “Glass and Patron” and I thought it would be the perfect winter holiday eye makeup. Now I know blue and silver are unpopular color choices but it can look amazing on all skin tones. I’m all for variety.
For this look, I started out with outlining my eyelid’s crease with Loreal’s Infallible Eyeshadow in 222 Infinite Sky. It’s a pretty shimmery powder blue color.
Next, I filled in the whole gap with Loreal’s Infallible Eyeshadow in 757 Silver Sky. You can tell how much I love these eyeshadows as I own so many of them. They’re so pigmented, but I do feel you can get alternatives at Korean beauty stores, such as Etude House and The Face Shop in Malaysia.
I made sure to spritz my eyeshadow brush with a bit of water to get it damp, so the color goes on more metallic and opaque.
I added a thin line of black liquid eyeliner, barely flicking it out and shaded a bit of black eyeshadow on the outer corners of my eyes. In the video, FKA twigs did not look like she had much mascara on, so I added a tiny bit on the bottom lashes.
You can jazz up this look with a dash of red on your lips or soften it with a nude lip.
As FKA twigs sang in her music video:
You are phoenix, you are fire, you are everything
Makeup is a fun outlet and sometimes all you need is to step out of your comfort zone.
Have a good the-last-week-of-November!
