Photo Diary: Ho Chi Minh, VN

A couple of years ago, I made a promise to myself that I would travel to a new country once a year. I’m glad I got that covered for 2016.

On the way

On my 5-day trip to Ho Chi Minh City, it was hard for me to not take pictures of everything. Each corner of the city had its own charm. Every nook and cranny were filled with history. It was nothing short of beautiful, with the perfect blend of old and new.

We were blessed with daily sunset views that never failed to win me over. There were flowers blooming so bright in the city hall vicinity, with buildings in District 1 giving off that 50s romance vibe.

My mom and I haggled in Malay. We saw a Naked 6 palette at Ben Thanh Market. We also ended up teaching a few market vendors Indonesian.

Ben Thanh

I ate a lot of spring rolls but I didn’t get a chance to try banh mi. HCMC not only converted me into a coffee drinker, but it also taught me that I should never doubt myself when I cross any motorcycle-filled traffic.

Or anything.

It applies to everything now. So, walk tall you guys because they will always stop for you.
